Christina
Newman set up BLACK DOG DESIGN in 1996, to offer
a friendly and efficient service to anyone requiring
the services of an experienced typographer/designer/print
production manager. Christina has worked in the
educational publishing industry since completing
her graphic design training in 1978. Christina's
first job was as Designer for leading educational
publisher, Ginn and Company after which she
progressed to be Design and Production Manager
at Blackwell Education, Oxford. Her seven years
at Blackwell gave her experience in managing
complex projects sourcing and supervising
freelance designers and illustrators as well
as buying print services internationally.
Christina is pleased
to be able to offer a comprehensive service
from manuscript to printed product, but has
the flexibility to provide whichever element
each individual customer requires. The contacts
she has made over the years enable her to draw
on a bank of freelance professionals to complete
each project.
Black Dog Design's
customers benefit from being able to communicate
direct with Christina, rather than through an
account executive who isn't 'hands on'. She
takes great pride in always meeting deadlines
and keeping clients informed of progress.
Christina is often
asked where the name BLACK DOG DESIGN came from!
It's nothing to do with Winston Churchill or
Led Zeppelin but merely a tribute to her much
loved, but sadly departed, Tibetan Terrier, Yamsho who created a
very calm atmosphere in her office. |
